Hello and welcome to my page!  Well, where should I begin? First I would like to thank God for my wonderful husband and beautiful baby girl, whom I love very much.  Music has been a huge part of my family ever since I can remember.   Growing up in a family of ministers, musicians, and educators in Tylertown, MS, my two brothers and I were always singing and dancing at home.  At the age of 5, my mother taught me my first song, "God Has Smiled On Me" and also put me in piano lessons. This led me to become a church musician at the age of 11.   Throughout my high school years, I was contemplating between majoring in nursing or music education; of course,  I chose music education because I wanted children to enjoy the experience of music, understand how it enhances their cognitive development, and understand how it relates to their everyday lives.  Music is a subject that can be used in all core academic subjects and is known as a universal language.  Remember "where words fail, music speaks."
