Greetings, Huey Lee Porter Tigers!

                I am DeVonda Carson-Cheeks, ELA Interventionist.  I have had the pleasure of teaching at Porter Middle School since its opening. Having taught for the past 24 years and being a member of the Canton Public Schools family since 2011 has been a blessing.  As a 6^th-8^th grade Interventionist, it is my goal to aid students in reaching their full potential by supporting them intellectually and socially, providing multiple opportunities to discover their personal and academic strengths in a nurturing environment.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Jackson State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from William Carey University.  I share in the sentiment of the great Nelson Mandela when he stated  “Education  is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
