Students will explore various forms of literature that will serve as a vessel for knowledge. Students will also learn to create text that can be used to persuade and inform using textual evidence. Students will read and create text that serve as a way to escape and observe realities of a world different from our own.

Students will be responsible for drafting and submitting persuasive, argumentative, and informative essays.
Students will be responsible for completing reading assignments throughout the year. Completing these readings is an integral part of success in this classroom.
In this classroom, students will be held to a high level of responsibility and held accountable for their actions.
Students are encouraged to develop and improve individual skills like time management and study skills as well as academic skills like reading level and writing skill-sets.
Students are responsible for completing and submitting all assignments on time.
Late submissions will lose points.
If a student misses a day, they are expected to get the missed material(s) either from a classmate or find it in the designated place in the classroom. I am not responsible for reminding you about assignments missed.
