•  I am very happy to be your child’s fifth grade teacher this year. For those of you who are new to Goodloe Elementary, I welcome you, and I look forward to meeting you. For those of you returning to Goodloe Elementary, welcome back!  It is an honor to be able to teach your child this year and I am looking forward to having a GREAT year! If you have not been informed, Goodloe Elementary School is embarking up a successful year under the leadership of Dr. Candra Nelson. This is also my first year teaching at Goodloe Elementary School. I have worked hard to plan and ensure that I meet each and every one of my students needs over the course of the school year.

     

    I am eager to get this year started and look forward to communicating with you all throughout the school year. I encourage you to drop-in during your free time.  I believe working together as a team will help enhance your child’s education.Therefore, we will send a Parent Newsletter home every Monday. Also I have a Remind101 account set-up for my class.  Please check your child's belongings daily for important information.  Homework is sent home on Mondays and due back by Friday.

     
    This year math is being taught differently. Monday and Tuesday of each week I will be modeling (teaching) for the students. Wednesdays and Thursdays we will work in cooperative groups. On Fridays the students will work independently to complete a task. Every other Friday there will be a bi-weekly assessment.  All the students have an interactive math notebook that is left in my classroom. I use different strategies for every math concept taught. Grades will be sent home every Thursday attached to the Tiger Paw Packet.
